Tetris® is a classic puzzle game that was created by Russian software engineer Alexey Pajitnov in 1984. The game's objective is to manipulate variously shaped falling blocks, called "tetrominoes," by rotating and moving them horizontally as they descend towards the bottom of the playing field.
Each tetromino is made up of four square blocks arranged in one of seven possible shapes: I, J, L, O, S, T, and Z. Players must strategically place these tetrominoes to form complete horizontal lines without gaps. Once a line is filled, it will disappear, granting points and freeing up space for more blocks. The game ends when the stack of tetrominoes reaches the top of the screen, making it impossible to place any more pieces.
Throughout the game, the tetrominoes' speed will gradually increase, requiring players to make decisions more quickly. The score will also increase as players successfully clear lines, and bonus points can be earned by clearing multiple lines at once. Tetris® is renowned for its addictive gameplay and has become a cultural phenomenon, influencing countless games and other media since its inception.
